COVID'19 UPDATE: Nigeria Record Four New Case Making 135 cases of COVID'19 Nigeria has recorded four new cases of coronavirus in Osun and Ogun State. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, that three new cases have been recorded in Osun, and one recorded in Ogun. "All new cases have mild to moderate symptoms and are currently receiving care," the agency said. The Nigerian senate has reacted to President Buhari’s lockdown of Abuja, Lagos, and Ogun states over the coronavirus pandemic. Though President Buhari said the decision was taken based on the advice of the Federal Ministry of Health and the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), some top lawyers in the country insisted that the Nigerian leader acted outside his powers.  Reacting to the controversy that trailed the President's lockdown order, Nigerian Senate's spokesman, Godiya Akwashiki said Buhari must have obtained legal advice before acting. About 27 out of the 36 state governors across the country have refused to self-isolate despite contacts they had with prominent people that have tested positive to the Coronavirus. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had written to all the governors to self-isolate after considering their level of exposure in the last few days. The governors were also advised to direct those they had contact with, including their commissioners, close aides and family members to self-isolate to stem the spread of the disease. Some of the governors have complied and have taken  tests for COVID-19 as a precautionary measure. However, most of the governors have refused to heed to the NCDC's advice to self- isolate.
