COVID-19: Muslim Worshipers at Agege Central Mosque Attack Lagos Taskforce Over Lockdown Orders




Some 300 worshipers at the Agege Central Mosque in Lagos flouted the lockdown order in the state, and also attacked the state governments coronavirus taskforce.

This was made known by Dr. Dolapo Fasawe, who is the General Manager, Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) and leader of the Taskforce.

The Lagos State COVID-19 Taskforce, has been mandated by the State Government to monitor and enforce compliance against public gatherings, though they would be attacked by some Muslim worshippers at the Agege Central Mosque.

Speaking on the incident, Dr. Dolapo Fasawe said members of the taskforce team COVID-19, comprising of Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), Lagos Safety Commission and the Rapid Response Squad, saw the Muslim faithful observing their evening prayer (Solatul Eshai) in a large congregation, contrary to the directive on total lockdown to stem the tide of the COVID-19 pandemic in the State.Readmore
